Elease Ingram Obituary

Elease Yvonne Ingram was born April 21, 1957,  in McKeesport, PA, the youngest child of the late Sam and Lessie Mae (Graham) Ingram. Her eternal peace and rest with the Lord came on April 6th, 2024 and it was well with her soul.

Elease was educated in the Clairton School System, attending Shaw Avenue (elementary) and Clairton Junior and Senior High School, graduating in June 1975. It was during her school years that Elease learned the power of building relationships and, while still staying true to her reserved and quiet nature. Despite being a quiet student, she was well-liked and easily recognized as one of the many Ingrams that, attended the Clairton Public Schools.

Elease’s primary task of love became raising her beloved only child, Ari Rae. As a young mother, Elease learned from those around her how to guide and protect her daughter so that she could flourish into adulthood. With a village of family and friends, Elease made sure that Ari Rae had all that she needed to become an independent woman and set the course for her life despite challenges. The same love and attention Elease offered Ari Rae was also given to her grand and great-grandchildren. The value of her time and attention far outweighed any material possessions she might have offered.

Interwoven in her focus of being an attentive mother was her attendance at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Having attended Mt. Olive as a young child, her faith in God as touchstone was always present. Through life’s twists and turns, Elease always had knowledge of God and knew that when all was said and done it was into His hands that she would return. It was this peace that sustained her, especially into her moment of transition.

It is difficult to say you knew Elease without remembering her strong connection and allegiance to her family. Rarely would you see Elease without a family member; her daughter, a grandchild, or sister were always close by. Her love for her family was as much a part of her as her physical being. Her presence was always enough but she often paired presence with words of love and encouragement. To hear her say “I love you” was like medicine that soothed most hurts. Those “I love you’s” were shared with her daughter, grand and great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces, and nephews. It was in her family connection that Elease experienced the richness of life.

One verse of the beautiful hymn “It Is Well With My Soul” reads “But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait. The sky, not the grave, is our goal. Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord! Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!” As she moves from this life to her rest, she leaves to cherish her life and memories:  Daughter, Ari Rae Ingram and (Arielle Turner), Son-by-Choice, Deon Webb; Granddaughter’s, Taryn Ingram, JoRae Stoutamire, Ariona Ingram, and Kalahia Ford ; Great Grandchildren,Taylen Boyd, Lyric Hampton, Tegan Chandler, and Rylin Manker; Sisters, Mary Jeanette Williams Thurman, Mamie Delores (Michael) Williams, June Elizabeth, Doris Ann; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
